Autobiography.
I am:
I am fearless.
I am mysterious.
I am calm, delightful, beautiful.
I am eager.
I am quiet.
I am witty, complex.
I am energetic.
I am imperfect.
I am magical.
I am Maysen.
My name is Maysen Lily Wheatley, I was born in Butte Montana on April 19th, 1996 at 6:15 pm. My family had the week all planned out, my grandma Carol was coming into town for the week so she could take care of my brother and sister and get to see the new baby. My brother Quin was 6 and my sister, Kinsey was 4. We lived in a house on A. street in Butte Montana. This would be the very first house I would live in. My parents knew the due date and they were ready. Once they got to the hospital my parents realized that their best friend was in the next room having her baby as well. It was very calm and planned out. They broke my mom’s water and began to wait till the baby came. I was born in 40 minutes. None of the doctors thought that it would be that fast. But it was and I was ready to take on the world.
My parents met when they were teenagers, they lived in Castle Rock, Colorado. My mom was best friends with my dad’s sister. My parents met through my Aunt Page. My mom tells me that the first time she saw my dad she knew she was going to marry him. Sure enough she did, and they had 3 beautiful children. My mom, Penny, is absolutely stunning. She is one of the strongest women I know. If she wants something, she’ll go get it. She has taught me to always stand up for what I believe in. My father Kirk, has taught me so much throughout my life. He has taught me the true meaning of happiness. My dad is the smartest person I have met. He is a stress free, easy going kind of guy. He has always told me to just, “keep smiling.”
I have two older siblings and we are all very close. My older brother, Quin, is now 24. He has always been there for me. I am so happy I have such a close relationship with my brother. I know most people don’t get to have that, and I am eternally grateful. He is the nicest person ever. I love going shooting with him and going on drives with him. My sister, Kinsey is now 21. My sister is the only person I can relate to. We are basically the same person. I can do anything with her and always have the best time. I honestly don’t think I would be here today without my siblings.
There have been many negative pivotal moments in my life that have changed me. I know that in the end I learned from them and they have made me who I am today. There have also been many great changes in my life. One of those things is changing schools. When I was 4 I moved to Colorado and started school in Basalt. I went to Basalt schools for 10 years and I was very unhappy there. I was tired of knowing everyone there and sick of the same routine. Both of my siblings graduated from Basalt High School and I felt obligated to suck it up and graduate from there too. Finally, I could not stay there any longer. I made the decision to switch schools. I went to Glenwood Springs High School for my sophomore year and the beginning of my junior year. At first it was great and I met so many new people. After a while I realized that I could not go to a public school. I looked into going to an alternative school and found Yampah. I told my dad that it was the school I knew I would be the happiest going to. I signed up and got in. I am so happy I finally found a school I felt accepted at. I am proud that I get to graduate from Yampah Mountain High School. It has changed my life in the best way.
The things that make me happiest are: Going camping, sailing, swimming, yoga, going out to eat, painting, going on pretty drives, my dog and cat, my family, friends, walks, traveling, shopping, watching a good movie, parties, music, etc. What makes me the happiest are the people in my life that I love and care about and spend time with. “Happiness is only real when shared.”
The things that make me sad are: fighting, deaths, not having money, not having anything to do, when other people are sad, being sick, break ups, saying goodbye, etc. Even though all these things make me sad I have to fight through them and enjoy the little things.
In my opinion, my talent are painting or drawing. I think they are one of my better talents because I actually enjoy doing them. It’s what makes the most sense to me. I would like to get better at them and practice more. I first started really liking art when I was about 11 or 12. I would draw animals all the time. I would also practice drawing other people's faces. After that I got more creative and all I would do was look online at different art. It gave me more ideas and would inspire me to draw more. I love creating new art pieces and giving them to all my friends and family. I love seeing how much they like my art work; its the best feeling in the world.
If I had to better something in my life or change something, I would change how lazy I am. I always procrastinate things that are important. This is not a good trait to have and I plan on doing something about it. I think it takes a lot to motivate me and I want this to change.
I wouldn't say I have a type of religion or any kind of religious view on life. I would say it’s more of a spiritual thing. I guess I really don’t know what I believe in. I try to enjoy every day I have on this earth, and enjoy who I am and what I have. I have different kinds of beliefs that I can’t explain. I have my code of ethics and my morals that I will always live by and nobody's going to change my mind on them.
Beauty, to me, is, “A combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, esp. the sight.” This is the dictionary definition of beauty; my definition is different. In my opinion, beauty is something different and creative. Something or someone that doesn’t have to try to be beautiful. Something that is natural, someone that isn’t fake. To me, that is the most beautiful thing.
What is friendship to me? I dont need that many friends; if I had one or two good friends I would be fine. All I need is a good bond with someone. I dont need a bunch of fake friends. I think if I know someone who is fake towards me and they’re just trying to be nice, I won’t want to talk to them or be friends, I just don’t see the point.
Home is,“The place where one lives permanently, esp. as a member of a family or household.” This is the definition of home. If I had to define home I would say it’s a place you can truly be yourself. Its a place you feel comfortable, no matter what.
I think three characteristics for being a great parent would have to be, maturity, patience, and self knowledge. To raise someone and to teach them different morals you have to know yourself. you have to know what you believe in before you show someone else how to believe and what to believe. You have to have patience with someone that doesn’t know better. To be a parent you have to be mature. You have to grow up and stop trying to party and do drugs. You have to be mature enough to know what the right thing to do is.
In my life right now I need to mainly focus on graduating. After graduating I need to take some time figuring out who I am. For my future happiness I think taking a year off of school is the best for me. I think I really need to figure out what I truly love to do. I need to do this for myself, before I start living my life for other people. I don’t want to be that person that only finds happiness through other people.
I think the most successful person is someone who knows how to live stress free. Someone who is not materialistic, someone who does not care about the clothes they wear or the things they own. To me, these people understand the true meaning of life and are the most successful. As much as I would like to be like this, I admit I’m not. I need to overcome a lot of things and I hope some day to be like that.
I am grateful for…
My family,

Where I live,
My friends,
My future. :)

College plan.
After I graduate on May 23rd 2014, I plan to take a break from school and work. I will save up as much money as I can and i will either travel out of the country or move to Denver. In a couple of years I would like to finally go to college. I would like to study radiology. I would like to become an X-ray technician. I have always been interested in human anatomy and love learning about it. I am very excited to graduate from Yampah Mountain High School and start my life outside of high school.
